Your travel is not complete without tasting the food of the locals. The best way to taste the food of the locals is to eat street foods of the place of your destination. However, this is just my opinion because I couldn’t afford eating in an expensive restaurant in the local area. Haha! But to my mind, street foods are foods eaten by many of the locals. I was in Turkey last year attending a conference. The conference was shouldered part of my expenses of my board and lodging by the organizers. I couldn’t ask of any food I want because what I ate was dependent on what the organizers’ served. I am a Filipino and love to eat salty and sweet foods aside from the fact that I have to eat rice at least three times a day. Imagine eating rice only seldom in a week and your stomach is fed by rice since birth, Oh! However, eating their food makes my stay more worthwhile as I have internalized the Turkish culture. The taste of the Turkish food is not as salty as Filipino food. Breakfast is always served with French bread, olive fruit, honey, butter, tomato, cucumber, and, of course, coffee or juice. Shawarma sandwich bread is very tasty especially it is served in spicy chilli. Mwahaaaaa! Look at the pictures of the food I have eaten in Turkey. Surely, you will salivate.

First time to eat rice after a long week of eating Turkish food without rice. It is very delicious Shawarma with rice. Hmmmm!
